Napa (Cali litter)'s Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

---

We can't stop singing... I like big MUTTS and I cannot lie! These are some beefy babies, most of them anyway. There are TWELVE of these babies... wow. Mommy is a German Shepherd, Daddy a mix of a bunch of things but Great Pyrenees and Boxer were just part of his DNA. At 12 weeks, these babies are in the 30# range. Some puppies are bigger than others. They are half siblings to our Safari litter, daddy got around.

Wow does Napa have some ears... the better to ignore you with! Ha! This beauty is very much a GSD... active and super smart. She's also cuddly and loves attention. We think a home with previous GSD experience would be good with this girl. She's currently in a foster home with dogs and cats and doing great - lots of new things to learn about.

This puppy is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots at 16 weeks, including rabies.

Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your childrens toys and maybe even the furniture - also your fault. Ha! But... once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions!

The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Adoptions typically take place in Marysville - they are ready for homes! We dont hold puppies, adoption applications may be approved in just a few days depending on how quickly references respond. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to pick up your puppy within a few days of approval, please let us know in advance.

Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sundays to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We dont ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
