Murray is a sweet, comical 2 year old, 70lb, brindle boy that came to the shelter in June 2022 with a fractured pelvis. He moved into a foster home where he has been entertaining his family with his comedic personality. Despite his happy demeanor, it was clear to his foster family that he was in pain and wasn’t bearing weight on his hind leg. After months of medication and consultations with vets, it was decided that amputation would give Murray the best chance for improved quality of life. Murray is now a proud tri-pawd happily navigating the world on 3 legs!

Murray LOVES people and has been friendly with everyone he has met. His perfect home would be one where his people are around often. He, also, loves meeting children. But he is a big, strong boy who gets mouthy when he plays or gets too excited. We recommend a home without small children.

Murray has lived, played and worked with other dogs of varying age, size, breed and gender and has been friendly with them all. But he is reactive when he spots the resident cats on the other side of the gate. So, Murray needs a feline free home.

Murray is crate trained and housebroken. But due to his pelvic injury, there is some pressure on his bladder and colon which causes urgency to go to the bathroom. He tries his best to let you know that he has to go. This is another reason we are recommending a home where someone is available to give him potty breaks throughout the day.

Murray loves being outdoors and having the opportunity to use his nose. He is eager to please and enjoys obedience training. But the thing he loves the most is curling up with ( or usually on top of) his people. This block headed boy has so much heart. He is a loyal companion who is sure to brighten the life of a special person.
