Meet Murray
Meet Murray! Murray is around 2-years-old and 20 pounds. He ended up in a rural Alabama shelter. He is a super sweet, calm Dachshund mix. Pictures don't do him justice, with his floppy ears, short stubby legs, long body, and gorgeous bi-colored eyes. Murray just wants to snuggle up with his people on the couch or chill in his dog bed, although he perks up when he goes outside and on walks. He walks really well on a leash, too! Murray sleeps well in his crate and appears to be housetrained as well! He really likes other dogs and looks to them for cues, but he would really love a buddy dog to play and snuggle with. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body! Murray might do best with kids that are at least 10-years-old, since younger ones might overwhelm him.
Update 3/26/19, Murray unfortunately tested positive for heartworm disease. He got this by being bitten by an infected mosquito. He is not contagious to other dogs (but all dogs should be on heartworm prevention monthly, year-round to prevent infection/reinfection). Underdog has started Murray on treatment for heartworm, and with proper after-care, he will fully recover. His adopter will simply need to bring Murray to scheduled treatment appointments and keep him CALM (with strict crate rest or supervised relaxation) post treatment injections (for 2-3 months). We provide adopters with instructions and will cover needed meds. Dogs who are treated for heartworm have a positive likelihood of recovery when post-treatment instructions and rest are followed.

Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian
Our adult dog adoption fee is $275. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $350. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
*Please note that all breeds noted are estimates or best guesses. We very rarely have information on our animals' actual breeds since they often come to the shelters we work with as strays*
