But to me, it’s not just a toy… it’s comfort. It’s my way of holding onto something that makes me feel safe.<br/><br/>When I carry my little ball around, I feel proud. Like I have a purpose. Like I belong somewhere.<br/><br/>I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy, but the thing I want most isn’t found in a medical chart.<br/>It’s found in a family…<br/>a lap…<br/>a warm voice…<br/>a safe place to rest my head.<br/><br/>I am from Southern California and coming to live with my foster family in Ridgefield, WA by the middle of April and can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential adopter for me. I don’t need much.<br/>Just a soft place to lay down…<br/>a hand that reaches for me…<br/>and someone who smiles when they see me coming, toy and all.<br/><br/>I love to play—oh, I really do.<br/>If you throw my ball, I’ll chase it like it’s the most important thing in the world. And when I bring it back, I’ll hold it tight, looking up at you like, “Did I do good? Want to play again?”<br/><br/>But I also know when it’s time to slow down.<br/>I’m at that perfect place in life where I can run and play… and then happily plop down beside you, just to feel close. I don’t need to be the center of attention—I just want to be part of your world.<br/><br/>I get along with everyone—big dogs, little dogs, new people, old friends.<br/>I don’t make things complicated. I just… fit in.<br/><br/>But if I’m being honest…<br/>there’s one thing I’ve been waiting for.<br/><br/>A home.<br/><br/>Not just a place to stay—but a place where my toys don’t have to be packed up again.<br/>A place where I don’t have to wonder if I’ll still be there tomorrow.<br/>A place where someone says, “That’s Marla.
