Ms. Jelly Belly Tala's Story

Hi… my name is Tala, and I’m looking for a home where I will finally be wanted forever.
I’m a tiny one-year-old Pomapoo /Cairn Terrier mix, only 3.5 kg, but my heart is much bigger than my body. I want to tell you my story — not to make you sad, but so you can understand how much love I still have to give.

Now, I am happy, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, living with my foster family in Montreal area and ready for the next chapter of my life: finding my forever family.

I am available for adoption in Montreal. My adoption fee is $1000CDN.

Adoption Application Link: https://forms.gle/v3pZu61Vk7b47uTc9
(If not clickable, copy & paste into your browser)

Here is my story:
I don’t remember much from my earliest days, but I do remember the moment my world changed. One day, my guardian took me to a veterinary clinic… and simply never came back. I didn’t understand why. I kept listening for footsteps that belonged to someone familiar. I kept waiting for the sound of my name. But the days passed, and no one returned for me. I was just a little girl, confused and quietly hoping someone would open the door and say, “Come home, Tala.”

But that day never came.

Instead, something even better happened. I was rescued — gently, kindly — by people who saw my tiny shaking body and my big hopeful eyes and promised me a chance to start again. Now I am safe in Montreal, learning what real love feels like and dreaming of the family who will finally choose me forever.

I’m calm, sweet, and incredibly social. I love women, men, children, dogs, and even cats. I adore cuddles, being held, and feeling the warmth of a caring hand against my fur. I’m excellent on a leash and love going for long walks. I enjoy toys, meeting new people, and riding in the car with no fear at all. I don’t guard my food, I don’t guard my toys, and I don’t worry when I’m left alone — I know now that people can be gentle and kind.

I eat all types of food, I’m easygoing, and I have no sensitivities. Truly — I’m just a little dog who wants to love and be loved.

Even though I was abandoned once, my spirit didn’t break. I still wag my tail when I see kindness. I still lean in when someone reaches out to touch me. I still dream — a soft, quiet dream — of a family who will never leave me behind again.

If you choose me, I will give you every bit of sweetness in my heart. I will cuddle into your arms, follow you on walks, greet you with joy, and be your loyal little companion every single day. I may be small, but my love is enormous. I may have been left behind once, but I haven’t lost hope.

My name is Tala.
I’m ready for a fresh start.
I’m ready to belong.
I’m ready to come home

Nowruz Animal Rescue Group's Adoption Policy
Our Foster-to-Adopt Process At Nowruz Animal Rescue Group, we follow a foster-to-adopt process to ensure that each pet and family are a perfect match for one another. This approach allows both the dog and the adoptive family to adjust and bond before making a lifelong commitment. Step 1: Application Once a pet is listed for adoption, interested families are invited to fill out an online application form. This form includes: Three personal references The name of the veterinarian who will care for the pet Step 2: Application Review & Phone Chat After reviewing the application, we contact strong candidates for a phone interview. This gives us a chance to get to know the family better and answer any initial questions. Step 3: Home Check If the phone conversation goes well, we arrange a home check to ensure the living environment is safe and suitable for the specific pet. Step 4: Meet & Greet Next, we schedule a meet and greet with the dog and the family—either at the home or a secure, neutral location. One or two meetings may be arranged so everyone, especially the pet, has time to feel comfortable. During this time, we also complete reference checks. Step 5: Foster-to-Adopt Trial If the family decides to move forward, the dog begins a foster-to-adopt trial period. We deliver the pet to their new home along with essentials such as: Collar and leash Food and treats Favorite toys We encourage families to stay in touch throughout the transition. If you need support or guidance, we are just a phone call away.
