Mr. Happy Hatch( Hachiko)'s Story
My Name is Hatch — and All I Want is a Chance to Be Loved Again.

Hi there… my name is Hatch, short for Hachiko — because loyalty is in my heart, no matter what life throws at me. I’m a one-year-old Akita– Husky mix, weighing around 37lbs and people say I look like an orange dreamsicle — creamy, soft, and a little golden sunshine wrapped in fur.

I’m in a kind foster home, safe at last. My foster says I’m sweet, playful, gentle, and friendly — calm for my age, and full of gratitude but she can’t keep me for more than two weeks. I am traveling to Ridgefield, WA by November 16th to stay with my new foster family.

I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and house-trained, all ready to begin the next chapter of my life. I am available for adoption and can travel to other States if that’s where my forever family is waiting. My adoption fee is $600 USD.

Adoption Application Link: https://forms.gle/v3pZu61Vk7b47uTc9
(If not clickable, copy & paste into your browser)

Here is my story:

My first owner was struggling with deep sadness after losing his father. Someone thought giving him a dog might lift his spirits — that dog was me. I tried so hard to be his light, wagging my tail, offering kisses, waiting for his smile. But sometimes, even love can’t fix what’s broken inside a person’s heart. Eventually, he couldn’t care for me anymore.

I was placed in a boarding facility, and then later went to a foster home in Vancouver, BC but that’s where my heart broke for real. I was locked away in a dark basement, alone most of the time, with almost no light and no one to talk to. I cried quietly for someone to hear me — to know that I was still here, still trying to be good, still hoping for love.

And one day a local rescuer heard me.
They came and took me out of that place. I’ll never forget the first time I saw sunlight again — how it warmed my face, how I blinked against it because it had been so long. I wagged my tail so hard it hurt, because I knew my life was about to change.

I promise I’ll be the best boy for you. I’m great with other dogs, and my rescuer says I’m good with kids too — though maybe bigger kids would be best, because when I get excited, my wagging tail might knock the little ones over. I haven’t met cats yet, but I’m a gentle soul, so maybe we’d be fine together.

I love adventures — walks, exploring, sniffing new scents — but I also love curling up beside you after, resting my head on your lap and feeling your heartbeat. I’ve been through enough loneliness for one lifetime.

I’m a good boy who’s still learning. I do get curious and might counter surf or be a little mouthy sometimes, but I just want to be part of everything you do. I’m eager to learn and easy to train, especially when you use kindness and treats.

More than anything, I want to belong. I want to wake up every morning knowing I’m home — that I’ll never be left in the dark again. I want to walk beside someone who will never give up on me. I want to bring joy and laughter to a family who will see me not just as a rescue… but as their loyal, goofy, loving companion for life.

If you look into my eyes, you’ll see it — a heart that’s still hopeful, still full of love despite everything I’ve been through. I’ve forgiven the past… I just need someone to show me that my faith in people was never wrong.

Please, if you’re that person, come meet me. Take me home. Let’s write the rest of my story together — one filled with light, warmth, and love that never ends.

With Love,
Hatch
