They were all I knew. We stayed close together because the world felt big and confusing. Then one day, we ended up in a loud place with concrete floors, barking dogs, and people walking past our kennel every day.

I didn't understand what I had done wrong.

I would press my little face against the kennel door and watch people come and go. Sometimes they would smile at me. Sometimes they wouldn't even look. Every night I curled up next to my family and wondered if anyone would ever want a little puppy like me.

The shelter was a scary place for a baby. I heard the grown-ups talking about how full it was. I didn't know what that meant, but I knew everyone seemed worried.

Then one day, everything changed.

Someone looked at me and saw more than just another shelter puppy. They saw a life worth saving.

They opened the kennel door, picked me up, and for the first time in a long time, I felt safe.

Since then, I've learned that people can be kind.

I've learned that belly rubs are amazing. That toys are meant to be chased. That other dogs can be best friends. That children give wonderful hugs. And that falling asleep beside someone who loves you is the best feeling in the world.

I don't spend much time thinking about the shelter anymore.

I spend my days playing, exploring, wagging my tail, and dreaming about my future family.

Sometimes I wonder what they're doing right now.

Maybe you're reading this while sitting on your couch.

Maybe you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family.

Maybe you're looking for a best friend who will greet you every morning like you're the most important person in the world.

If that's you, I've been waiting for you too.

I don't care how big your house is or what kind of car you drive. I don't care if you're rich or poor.

I just want someone who will love me forever.

Someone who won't leave me behind.

Someone who will let me grow up knowing what it feels like to belong.

I survived the shelter.

I got my second chance.

Now all I need is my forever family.

Could it be you?

Love,

**Duke **

Nowruz Animal Rescue Group's Adoption Policy
Our Foster-to-Adopt Process At Nowruz Animal Rescue Group, we follow a foster-to-adopt process to ensure that each pet and family are a perfect match for one another. This approach allows both the dog and the adoptive family to adjust and bond before making a lifelong commitment. Step 1: Application Once a pet is listed for adoption, interested families are invited to fill out an online application form. This form includes: Three personal references The name of the veterinarian who will care for the pet Step 2: Application Review & Phone Chat After reviewing the application, we contact strong candidates for a phone interview. This gives us a chance to get to know the family better and answer any initial questions. Step 3: Home Check If the phone conversation goes well, we arrange a home check to ensure the living environment is safe and suitable for the specific pet. Step 4: Meet & Greet Next, we schedule a meet and greet with the dog and the family—either at the home or a secure, neutral location. One or two meetings may be arranged so everyone, especially the pet, has time to feel comfortable. During this time, we also complete reference checks. Step 5: Foster-to-Adopt Trial If the family decides to move forward, the dog begins a foster-to-adopt trial period. We deliver the pet to their new home along with essentials such as: Collar and leash Food and treats Favorite toys We encourage families to stay in touch throughout the transition. If you need support or guidance, we are just a phone call away.
