Meet Morrison
Morrison is an approximately 2 year old male pitbull terrier mix. He’s a big ole baby at around 65 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Morrison was rescued from a dog fighting operation back in January and is finally ready to start thinking about finding his forever family. He is not quite ready to make it official, but he would love to meet them and know who is waiting to spend his forever with him after he graduates training class!
***This dog, along with the over 20 other dogs rescued from a fighting ring, has been assessed for behavior and temperament and approved for adoption. However, since we had training sessions donated to us, we are erring on the side of caution and slowly sending them all through behavioral training that will teach them basic manners and give them a good structure to build on with their forever family. Please inquire as to the status of this dog's training if you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting! The most important thing to us is to ensure that these dogs' horrendous past does not affect the future they deserve to have! ***
We do not have much information about where he is at with training (house training, leash training, etc.) The beginning of his new life has been focused on relaxing and healing, so this will come with more time.
He loves to play with other dogs his size and gives good corrections if they push him too far. We think he would do best in a home with no young children or cats, and no alpha dog personalities.
We suspect he was born into the operation and has never known life as a house pet. :( Despite his rough start, he is a very sweet, happy boy. He just needs a patient, kind human being to show him what it is like to be part of a loving family. He is a very anxious car rider but is otherwise doing really great learning the ropes of “pet life." He is pending going to a training program that will teach him basic manners and give him a good structure to build on with his new family, but he will need continued training and patience likely for quite some time once in his new home. Morrison needs a resilient human that will fight FOR him.
