Morgan's Story
A Special Adopter Needed for a Diamond in the Ruff

Meet Morgan, a quiet, sweet 6-year-old, 9-pound poodle who is finally getting her chance to discover what it means to be loved. Morgan spent her previous life being used for breeding and living in a pen with multiple dogs, with very little human interaction or handling. She never had the opportunity to experience life as a cherished companion.

Thankfully, a kind woman rescued Morgan from harsh circumstances and reached out to Homes Fur Hounds to give this sweet girl the second chance she deserves.

Morgan is understandably frightened when approached and will need a very special adopter who is willing to go slowly, be patient, and let her learn at her own pace. Beneath her fear is a gentle, sweet girl with no aggression toward people or other dogs.

Morgan is not yet fully potty trained, but she is doing well using training pads in the house. She has never experienced walking on grass or being on a leash, so both will need to be introduced gradually and with patience. She doesn’t yet come when called and is still learning what to make of being handled, but she will allow her foster mom to pick her up for lap time and cuddles. Once in her arms, Morgan doesn’t struggle or try to escape — she simply needs time to understand that human hands can be gentle and loving.

Morgan’s ideal home would be quiet, calm, and predictable, with someone home most of the time. She finds comfort in the presence of other dogs, so a calm canine companion would be wonderful for her, especially if she will be left alone for periods of time. Because she is easily startled by sudden movements and noises, a home without small children would be best.
Morgan isn’t looking for someone to “fix” her. She’s looking for someone who will believe in her, give her time, and show her that the world can be a safe and beautiful place.

With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this little girl has the potential to blossom into the wonderful companion she was always meant to be.
Morgan is simply waiting for the right gentle and patient hands. If you have room in your heart and home to help this little soul discover what it feels like to truly be loved, please consider submitting an application.

www.homesfurhounds.org

Morgan’s happily-ever-after is waiting. Could you be the one to give it to her?
She is located in Williamsburg, Va
