Moose is a precious cuddly 13 lb dog, approximately 1 1/2 years old, with the most adorable expressive eyes.
He is a very quick learner, since he has been with his foster family, he learned to “go to kennel” when told, walks well on a leash, comes when called, and stays when told to stay. He is a terrier just beginning to learn all the things this smart little guy can do with time & training.

He LOVES the outside and a backyard will be a requirement that his new home has to have.
He likes to watch the birds and squirrels and smell everything.

Moose can be a barker, especially when a package is dropped off or someone is at the door. He usually stops when told to stop in a firm voice. He enjoys people and other dogs, Moose could live happily with no other dogs and attentive owners, or with another dog in the house.

Moose is a voracious eater and will gobble all his food and anything else he can find. Be careful with birdseed that may fall from a birdfeeder as he will go for it! Moose prefers sleeping on the fosters' bed but could be trained to sleep in his own bed. He is loving and is usually very submissive, and can be needy for attention. He is adored by the foster family but letting Moose go to a forever loving family shows how much they want him to have his own forever family and the fullest life possible.

Moose was heartworm positive when he came into the rescue, he has completed the full course treatment as recommended by the Association of Veterinarians and is on monthly heart worm prevention.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5..

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws, please visit our website at www.lilpaws-malteserescue.org and fill out an adoption application. This is the first step in our adoption process. Our goal is to place our dogs in safe, stable and loving homes in the Austin Metropolitan area. Thanks for looking!

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery. Because of the cost of this care, donations are essential to enable us to continue our work. If you would like to show appreciation for what we do and help us continue to do it please go to our website homepage and click the donate button. We thank you in advance for your support.
