Miss Scout is a happy young female Cattle Dog who is now available for adoption. She is 16 months old, she weighs 30 pounds, and she has a darker blue-speckled Cattle Dog coat with a lot of gorgeous copper trim. Scout is housebroken, crate-trained and she knows a number of the basic obedience commands. Her leash walking manners are a work in progress – she pulls pretty hard when excited about anything, and she is a great passenger in the car.
Scout absolutely loves people! She is a high Velcro girl who wants to be with people whenever she can. Scout is also a bit of a diva, and while she loves to play with other dogs she really prefers to play with males instead of females, and she has a hard-charging, wide-open play style. Overall, Scout is a high energy sweetie with an “off switch”. She loves to play ball with her foster family, play hard and wrestle with her boy dog pals, zoom around the yard, and hang out with her family while they are doing their outside chores. Scout will also herd and chase smaller animals of all kinds if she thinks she can get away with it, and she will try to chase anything that moves, including bikes and even feet! When all the chores, play and chasing is done, little Miss Scout is a sweet, relaxed, snuggly couch buddy.
The ideal family for Scout is active, friendly and ready for fun! It would also be helpful if her new family has some herding dog experience. A fenced yard is important, another wide-open, playful dog (male please!) would be welcome but not required, and any children in the home should be at least 10 years old. Miss Scout is such a happy cutie and she will make someone the best friend ever.
