MISO

Meet Miso!

Miso is sunshine in a dog suit.

This sweet, petite girl is approximately 1–2 years old and only about 35 pounds. Her Embark DNA results revealed quite the combination: 50.3% Siberian Husky, 29.1% Golden Retriever, 10.3% German Shepherd Dog, and 10.3% Supermutt.

Whatever combination created Miso, it created an extraordinarily loving dog.

Miso absolutely loves people. She loves cuddling, kisses, belly rubs, being touched, and simply being close to someone. She gets genuinely delighted when someone wants to love on her and has been known to launch herself from several feet away just to land beside you already in cuddle position.

But for all that affection, Miso isn’t demanding. Once she knows her person is nearby, she settles beautifully. She is perfectly content hanging out while you work from home, watch TV, game, read, or simply relax.

Miso wants companionship more than entertainment.

She came to Shiba Saviors after being picked up as a stray by Animal Control. She was thin, her stray hold passed, and nobody came to reclaim her. We don’t know what her life looked like before she was found.

Somehow, none of it seems to have convinced Miso that people aren’t wonderful.

She still expects love, and when you give it to her, she gives it right back.

Miso is house trained, crate trained, excellent on leash, and already knows sit and paw. She may cry or howl for a little while when left alone, but she does settle. She can also chew when unsupervised, so she should be safely crated when no one is home. A durable crate is recommended.

We are still evaluating Miso with other animals. She has been calm and non-reactive around dogs on leash and at the veterinary office, but our established resident pack has been intimidating for her. We don’t want to label her as either dog-friendly or dog-selective until we’ve had enough time to evaluate her fairly in calmer situations. Her compatibility with cats and small animals is currently unknown.

What we already know is that Miso is an exceptional little dog who deserves people of her own.

Right now, this incredibly people-oriented girl is living separately from our resident pack while we continue evaluating her. We would LOVE to get her out of the rescue room and into her permanent home as soon as possible.

Somewhere out there is a person who doesn’t know yet that their dog is sitting here waiting for them.

Maybe you just found her.

READY TO APPLY?
Please complete our adoption application at ShibaSaviors.org/adopt

FOLLOW MISO’S STORY!
Follow Shiba Saviors on Facebook for Miso’s latest photos, videos, updates, and adoption-status changes.

Miso is available for adoption through Shiba Saviors, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue in Florida.
