Milo's Story
This is a two-fer! Gala had a litter of pups when she was two. Her family kept one and he’s become her best dog-friend and partner in life. Meet Milo.
When they are done wrestling and playing “catch me if you can”, I’ll often find them snuggled up together on a bed. They are each other's BFF.

Milo is a neutered, brown and white male who will turn 6 years old soon (Birth Date: 07/20/2015). I call him the “Pocket Corgi”, tipping the scales at just 23 lbs. with his Dad being a Mini-Aussie/Corgi cross. Seems all that he’s inherited from the mini-aussie side are the tips of his ears that flip up and down, keeping tempo with his stride.

Milo has a sensitive stomach and LOVES his food. He needs only a simple diet with a few ingredients. Because of his micro size, Milo is an “easy keeper” requiring little food. Milo is a lover at heart but needs to feel safe before he can turn on the charm. He may come across at first as stand-offish but that is just because he’s trying to determine if you are “safe”. You’ll know you have really found a place in his heart when he comes over and softly sits on your feet. This is a favorite method of him showing his love. Because of his small stature, he is not very good with small children. He’s never bitten anyone. Once when feeling unsafe, Milo choose to warn a toddler that he did not want to be touched with a growl. He let his feelings be known without inflicting any harm. He does not want to be around small children.

Don’t let his pocket size fool you, he’s an active little Dude. He loves to wrestle and romp with Gala Sue. Milo also entered 4-H showmanship classes and ran agility with gusto. He helped his mother keep the orchard workers and the 4-wheelers in line. This little guy knows his commands. Naturally the Corgi temperament makes him tend to also be “hard of hearing” but with a firm hand this little guy puts his mother’s heeling skills to the test! He and his mother are a delight to walk together on leashes.

Milo also has no microchip. He has the same “go to commands” as his mother, Gala Sue; sit, down, stay, come, shake, wait, and leave it. He’s had to wait for his food since he was a puppy and is very good about waiting for the “ok” release to chow down.

Please see Gala Sue's Petfinder profile page to learn details about her. The dogs are in a foster home near Leavenworth, WA.
