Meet Millie

Meet Millie!

This sweet girl is looking for a home of her own! She LOVES LOVES LOVES to play!

Here are a few videos of her playing at her foster home:

She likes to play with toys and other dogs her size. Her favorite toy is a small yellow duck that she carries everywhere.

Like all puppies she is a chewer. Her favorite thing is a deer antler or pig's ear.
You can't give her too many edible chewies though because it upsets her stomach.

She walks ok on a leash, with more practice she will be a pro.
She loves car rides. Foster mom takes her along with all the other dogs on joyrides so they all get "free smells"

She has shown alpha tendencies so would most likely thrive in a home with a more submissive dog. She has only been with dogs 4lbs - 15lbs.

She sleeps in a crate at night. She can't hold it for longer than 5 hours right now and that is pushing it. She is a tiny puppy with a tiny bladder after all.

She came to us from Houston, TX. The lady that took her in said her cats weren't fond of her. She has not been with cats since arriving to NW Indiana.

We are guessing she is about 5.5 months old. She is 6lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccines, rabies and has a microchip.

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received.

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
