Michael is a Black Mouth Cur and German Shepherd boy that was born in Februaery 2018 and weighs 76 pounds. Ideally he woukd do best in a home and not in an apartment. He needs leash training, but does great in a fenced in yard.
Michael is a “good boi”. We can’t rave enough about how much of a good dog he is. As a long-time resident of McKamey since February, we felt that it was time to give him a change of environment and help get this guy the home he deserves. He is a bit of a big dog and strong on the leash, but he makes up for it with his exceptional manners. He’s such a gentleman when meeting new people and will do the best sit anytime you ask him to. Time for dinner? He knows to sit and wait. Time to open up his kennel and get ready for the day? Perfect sit on command. He’s also a social butterfly. If you have a lonely canine at home that is ready to romp around and play or go for a walk, Michael is the perfect match.

During his stay at McKamey, he was put into a foster home during the hurricane season because of their large amount of intakes, and he was in blissful heaven with his foster companion. His foster parentonly had the best reviews when they brought him back. He spent every day playing and sleeping like the giant softy he is. Did we mention how well he sleeps? Every day, when it’s time for the kennel staff to go home, Michael curls up in his bed and falls asleep so hard he starts to snore.

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.

The adoption fee is $90 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.
