Max's Story

Max is an almost 4-year-old Brittany Spaniel mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy, but was recently returned when his family felt he would be happier in a home where he could get more time and attention. He was adopted a second time, but unfortunately returned again after showing some insecurity around the toddler in the home.

Max has been kept mostly as an outside dog, and has been known to slip a tie-out, so a secure fence or close supervision will be important for keeping him safe. But don't let that fool you-Max is all about people. He makes friends quickly, loves meeting new faces, and is always eager to climb into your lap for snuggles and attention. He truly wants nothing more than to be close to his people.

He does have an anxious side, and would thrive in a patient home that can provide him with structure, reassurance, and a routine to help build his confidence. He has also shown that he can be a little possessive over toys, and he wasn't too thrilled about sharing his space with a cat- but seems to do okay with other dogs.

Max would do well in an adult-only household, or one with older, respectful children who can understand his boundaries. He's a loving, loyal dog who simply needs the right environment to flourish. With consistency, attention, and plenty of love, Max will reward his forever family with devotion, companionship, and endless affection.
