Meet Max
Meet Max!
He is a 5 year old Shepherd mix looking for his forever home! Max came to Pet Welfare at the beginning of 2017 in very rough shape. His owners were not keeping up with his medications, causing him to lose all of his hair, develop skin infections and become lethargic and emaciated. After a year of a lot of TLC, Max is looking and feeling a million times better. Max is a sweet mellow boy that loves to be with people. He would be best with older dog savvy children. Max has shown non aggressive interest in cats and would probably easily adjust to a home with a dog friendly cat though a proper introduction and adjustment period is highly recommended. He previously lived with two other male dogs but can be selective about canine company. A submissive female may be a better fit.
Max has hypothyroidism and environmental allergies. He MUST be on daily medications for LIFE and also requires yearly bloodwork as well as regular medicated baths. His new family MUST be committed to keeping up with his medications.
Max is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative.
