Say hello to Maverick, a handsome 5 year old Great Dane, German Shepherd & Mastiff mix with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life!<br/><br/>At just over 100 lbs., Maverick is the total package for an active home; he’s housebroken, crate trained, incredibly intelligent, and highly food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He loves learning new things and thrives in a home where his mind and body get plenty of activity.<br/><br/>Maverick's Best Qualities:<br/>- Super smart and eager to learn: He picks up commands quickly and loves training time.<br/>- Athletic and energetic: Perfect for hikers or joggers.<br/>- Dog friendly: He enjoys meeting other dogs on neutral ground; however, he has never learned how to play properly and can be too rough, so he should never be taken off of leash to play with other dogs.<br/><br/>Maverick's Ideal Home:<br/>- Maverick will do best in an adults only home without children. Work at home or retired adults would be ideal.<br/>- In his foster home, he does well with the older female dog that likes to sleep all day and their 2 cats; however, a home where he is the only pet where he can soak up all the attention and avoid unnecessary stress would be amazing.<br/>- He cannot be around chickens.<br/>- A fenced yard where he can zoom and a pond to splash in would be his perfect idea of heaven.<br/>- Maverick does thrive on a routine. His new owner should be willing to be patient while he adjusts to their routines.<br/>- His new home should not have lots of visitors. He meets people on a leash well, but strangers coming in and out of the house stresses him out.<br/>- His new owners should expect LOTS of cuddles and snuggles. He loves to be by his person's side at all times.<br/><br/>Maverick is up-to-date on his vaccines, negative for parasites & heartworms, neutered and had a gastropexy done. His adoption fee is sponsored for that special family!
