Mater Labrador Retriever & Chow Chow Mix Richland, NY

 

Mater is a chow mix who has been at the shelter for over 2 years now. I’m not sure why because he is one of the sweetest, most joyful dogs I have ever been around. When I sit in his kennel, he lays across my lap with his head resting on my leg with a smile in his eyes. He loves to cuddle that way and will lie there with you forever. He’s good with kids, likes woman more than men and hates cats. He has trouble with men in ball caps and just prefers women, smart boy. So, he cannot go to a home with cats or small pet rodents like ferrets etc. He doesn’t like white lab coats, so when taking him to the vet, be sure to have them take their white lab coats off : ) He would be the perfect dog for a catless home, with people who will both play with him and let him lie on your lap. He’s intimidating looking, but not aggressive, the perfect combo. I would take him myself, but I have 4 cats and it pains me that he’s been here this long. Whoever opens their heart and home to Mater will have an amazing dog, who I love dearly.
