Martin's Story

Meet Martin!

Martin is a 10-12yo 16lb Shih Tzu/ Lhaso mix who was found in horrible condition. He was so matted and so uncomfortable he had to be sedated to remove the hair.

Martin spent over 2 weeks at the vet while they tried to determine if he had quality of life. He was very thin- just under 14lbs when he should be 20.

Martin has some medical issues that many would feel make him unadoptable, but we disagree- we know there is someone out there who would be willing to give him a soft landing, someone to live and care for him.

Martin has a high grade heart murmur and was found to be in congestive heart failure after he was sedated and shaved down. He also had 2 small seizures during his time in hospital.

His eyes are in bad shape but he can see and gets around without issue. They do not appear to cause him discomfort.

He is intact but unfortunately he is not a candidate for an elective procedure.

Martin is currently on 4 oral meds- 3 for cardiac issues and 1 for seizures as well as rewetting eye drops.

Although it may sound like a lot going on-it is not- he is easy to care for and is a happy little guy who has a lot of life in him!

Martin is good with other dogs- he loves to be held like a baby and massaged. He is a good eater and is house and crate trained- he uses a pee pad if there is one available and he is not able to get access outside.

Martin loves to be outside and wander a fenced yard.

We are not looking for someone to come in and do lots of tests and solve his medical issues- thats been done. We we are looking for a quiet adult home, with access to a safe yard to explore, someone who can provide him with his meds and wants to give this him cuddles, treats and massages.

We know that person is out there right now...Could it be you?
