Arrival story: Good Samaritans found Marshmallow wandering city streets on a frigid February day, skinny and needing help, so they’ve been keeping her safe since. Her owners were never found.

Approximate Age / Weight: 3 Years Old and 70 lbs.

Personality: Marshmallow is just the sweetest and warms up quickly to new people. Everyone who has met her loves her! Being hearing impaired has not dampened her spirits! She is a confident, good-natured, playful girl, eager for a fresh start with humans that are up for forever games of tug and fetch. She’ll nudge you with a Kong in her mouth to play. Marshmallow is a bit of a bull-in-a-china-shop, not realizing her size, and may casually waltz under your legs for fun – Surprise! For those she loves the most, she reserves snuggles, lap-dog style that includes kisses.

Not one to turn down a treat of any kind, Marshmallow is gentle taking snacks from your hand. Loves ear and neck rubs and you shouldn’t forget the booty and belly while you’re rubbin’. Good in the car (should be harnessed or crated or she’ll take the wheel) and is good at the vet’s office.

Marshmallow is crate-trained and house-trained and has dreams of afternoon naps in the sun on the cushiest of dog beds. She currently has four Kong toys and one of her life goals is to add to the collection.

Marshmallow is deaf but she doesn’t know she is differently-abled. She’s picked up a couple hand signal cues and from what we’ve seen, she could master many more with the help of a dedicated person/couple. She makes great eye contact and is treat-motivated, too.

Forever Home: Marshmallow would thrive in a home that wants to interact a lot with her. She lives to play! While we don’t expect an adopter to have deaf dog experience, some dog experience and a willingness to learn is a must for our steel magnolia.

**Physical Fence Required** Since Marshmallow cannot hear danger approaching, like cars, it is preferable her forever home have a physical fence.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website for the date and time of the next adoption event. Arrangements can be made to meet a dog outside of adoption events after an application is submitted and approved.

Our adoption process includes an application and in-home meet-n-greet with the dog.
