She is currently being fostered with a tiny chihuahua and has no problem sharing love and treats with him!<br/><br/>Mama Mia is just finishing up her heartworm treatment and is doing wonderfully! Heartworms are parasites that are transmitted through mosquito bites and can cause serious health issues if left untreated. Mama Mia has been receiving the care she needs to make a full recovery and does not have any limitations as a result of her heartworm prognosis.<br/><br/>With her loving nature, social spirit, and joyful outlook on life, Mama Mia is ready to bring endless happiness to her future family. The adoption process consists of an application, reference checks, phone interview, and video chat with the pet and foster parent!<br/><br/>The adoption fee of $700 includes spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, DHPP and booster, and Bordatella), microchip with free lifetime registration, deworming, transport, heartworm test & treatment, heartworm & flea prevention during the pet's time in our program as well as 2 free months of heartworm and flea prevention to be sent in their adoption packet!<br/><br/>We are volunteers with a passion to reduce the stray population and unnecessary euthanasia in South Texas. According to Shelter Animals Count, an almost 100,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in Texas shelters in 2024.
