Meet Magic

I am in love with this boy! There is just something about dogs with black and white combos that draws you in!

Do you like to be silly? Because I sure do! My past life wasn't all that great. Let's say that it landed me in the shelter, and things started looking grim when the shelter filled up. Luckily I had a foster step up for me, and now I am living life to the fullest! I am a total goofball and look forward to finding my forever home!
My name is Magic and I am a 3 year old male Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix. I currently weigh about 83lbs and won't be getting much bigger. In fact, I am a little overweight and need to lose some weight. I have a lovely black&white coat, and it is super soft let me tell ya! Now let us talk a bit how I am going to act when I meet you and hopefully come home with you! I am a little nervous and shy when I first meet new people. I sometimes tuck my tail between my legs or cower just a bit, but I do warm up once I realize nothing scary is going to happen. I love to be petted. Once I feel more comfortable, I will start "talking" to you when there is something that I want! I make this quiet little howl, that is absolutely adorable...ahem my foster says that not me...I am very manly....? I am not a jumper, and prefer to just chill while getting pets. My personality is more on the shy side. I would be nervous in public settings currently. I would like for my family to expose me to public settings slowly and gradually. Walking on a leash has been a gradual process for me. I was so scared at first, and would run away whenever my fosters tried to use one on me. As I mentioned, my past wasn't all that great but the important thing is I am learning every day! I am very calm and laid back. I would be a GREAT "Work From Home" dog. I wouldn't interrupt any phone or zoom calls. I enjoy being with my family, but am not very active. While I love to get attention, I am not attention seeking, or in your face, as border collies can typically be. I do ride well in the car, but can get nervous when it's time to get out of the car. Currently, I don't seem very interested in chew bones/ toys. I am pretty lazy right now. I do not chase balls, but prefer to sit in the yard and watch the other dogs, get pets, and will occasionally sniff the fenceline. When I am outside you will usually find me sunbathing on a nice grassy patchy. I haven't shown any interest in playing in water. I am not one of those dogs who tries to get all bossy when food is around. When it is food time I lie on my tummy to eat, with a paw on either side of my dish. Hey, I already told you above that I am silly boy. ? I am very submissive to other dogs and don't try to resource guard anything.
I am potty trained. I understand that some dogs see the kennel as their safe space but I don't. I hate being kenneled. If I must be confined, let it be in a kitchen or bedroom where I have some space to move around and stretch out. I have not barked much. I will bark when I want back inside the house, and will "talk" to you when I want to go outside, or want my water dish refilled. Given my laid back personality, I believe I would do fine in an apartment setting. I have excellent house manners and can be give free roam of the house even if no one is home. I am great with other dogs, but am pretty submissive and timid with them. Big, active dogs tend to scare me. When I get scared, I will hide in the bushes by the fence. I do enjoy playing with younger, smaller, friendly and playful dogs. I have not been around any cats so am unsure how I would do with them. I would be great with kids, as I am very gentle, and wouldn't jump on them. However, I would be nervous around loud noises/ more active kids.

That was kind of a story book wasn't it? I just want to make sure that you know as much about me as possible so when you adopt me its because you love ME! Just the way I am right now....well maybe minus a few pounds but we can work on that together. If you are still unsure if we are a good fit, here is what I am looking for in my new home.
I would love to be adopted by a family with a young, very friendly, slightly smaller, playful puppy type dog (big dogs tend to scare me especially more dominant dogs). A friend of my fosters brought her 6 month old 40 pound female dog and I really enjoyed playing with her. I have been scared of Shade and Harry(my fosters dogs). I really would like to have a dog friend, based on how I acted with younger/smaller dog. I would prefer a home that is more laid back and calm. Loud noises and young kids would probably be pretty frightening to me. I would LOVE a home with parents who work from home. My fosters say that they can see me sleeping in your office while you work. My new family will need to be patient with me, since I am shy. I am also incredibly smart- I have already learned sit, and am working on shake.

This might be information overflow, but here is what my foster says about me
"Magic is a VERY sweet dog. He has the fluffiest, thickest fur, and he is so soft! His fur is dark brown with copper highlights. He has the biggest, sweetest brown eyes, white paws, and a white chest and tummy. He's a tuxedo dog! We don't know what other breeds he's mixed with, but he is so fun to pet, and he sure likes it when we talk to him and pet him. He weighs around 83 pounds, so he needs to lose some weight. He is pretty shy, and has taken some time getting used to his foster home, and what it's like to live inside with a family. Magic had a lot of old scabs on him, including a quarter sized wound on the top of his head that is healing up (the shaved spot), and he was pretty dirty, so he may not really know what it's like to be an inside dog with a loving family. He is starting to figure that out though, and Magic will be a treasure for his new family. He is very calm, and this may be partially because he's still getting used to everything and healing up from his UTI, kennel cough, and Ehrlichia. We named him Magic because we think that's what this rescue group has done for him the past few weeks. We hope he will have the BEST life with his new family."

If I have won over your heart, then please submit an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
My adoption fee is $225. That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, ehrlichia tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on my heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK. I have no qualms about going out of state if my adopters don't live in Oklahoma. All I ask is that they come pick me up. Those transports are too stressful and this rescue doesn't put us on those or ship us.
