Meet MADDY

Every breath you take, every move you make, I’ll be watching you. Literally. I’ll be right by your side watching you. I’m a loyal girl who loves attention! My favorite thing to do is romp around outside and roll around in the grass. Sweet freedom! I love chew toys (the more toys, the better!). I’m a great snuggler and will shower you with lots of kisses. I am learning commands and am able to sit and lay down. I enjoy going on walks and get so excited when I see the leash! Sometimes I need a gentle reminder not to pull (it’s not my fault, I’m just so excited!). I absolutely love children. I love them as if they were my own. I get along with cats and dogs, too! The only thing I ask is that I am left alone to eat. I am adventurous and love the outdoors so I need a home with a fenced back yard. We can run and play and roll in the grass- it is going to be so much fun! So go ahead, you can fill out the adoption application now.

Maddy was found desperately trying to care for her babies in the middle of a cold winter in rural Oklahoma. Dolly's Legacy rescued the entire family, her pups have all found forever homes, and now it's mommy's turn! She was found to have a badly injured hip and required surgery to remove the head of her femur (called an FHO). She is recovering and regaining use of her leg (left rear). Maddy also was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease and will need to remain on preventative for life, as should all dogs. She received a Proheart injection that gives her coverage for 6 months. She will then need to be retested by her adopter in August of 2018.

Maddy is a Mountain Cur who weighs 45 lbs and estimated at 2 yrs old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Adoption fee is $300 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from dollyslegacyadoptions@gmail.com within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week.
