Meet MACKIE!<br/><br/>Mackis is estimated to be about 3 months old and is 14 lbs as of June 6, 2026. <br/><br/>We think he's a Rottweiler mix, likely with a shepherd of some sort. He really has that Rottie look and coloring!<br/><br/>Mackie is such a sweet little boy! He is a happy-go-lucky-puppy who LOVES his toys. His foster says he is obsessed with toys and is enjoying discovering new squeaky toys in the toy bin!<br/><br/>He is a very cuddly puppy who loves human affection and love. His foster and rescuer describes him as a playful, typically energetic puppy who is loving, intelligent (he's a quick learner and is food motivated), sociable, curious and adaptable to new environments.<br/><br/>He gets along with other dogs very well! He is currently in a home with other adult dogs and there are no issues. His interactions with other dogs that he does not know/does not live with are also excellent. There is a neighboring dog that barks at him through the fence and he seem unbothered by it and does not engage (please see video)!<br/><br/>We think he would also be great with cats in a home given his personality and age.<br/><br/>He is well on his way to being house trained. He goes outside but also has potty pads as back up and is doing great. We know that with regular continued structure, he will have no problem.<br/><br/>His foster is also getting him used to leashed walks and he's doing very well!<br/><br/>At night, he is sleeping on a doggy bed and he sleeps soundly throughout the night (amazing!). <br/><br/>HIS STORY: Mackie was anonymously left on the current foster and rescuer's property one day. His abandonment was clearly deliberate and intentional because her home is not within a 5 miles radius of other homes and there is no way to get inside the property other than over the property wall. The person that left him there clearly dropped him over the wall onto her property. Her foster took him in with open and reached out to us for help in finding him the best home...the rest is history. :) <br/><br/>Any person that is interested in Mackie is more than welcome to have a virtual meeting with his foster to meet him!<br/><br/>**PLEASE NOTE: Mackie is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to his forever home once adopted! Please note that we can easily ship in cabin with a person to many airports along the East Coast including JFK, EWR, BOS, PHL, BWI, BDL, DCA, IAD, TPA and many more!
