MABEL's Story

Hi, I’m Mabel! I’m six years old and weigh 21lbs. I’m most likely a bugg (a Boston terrier and pug mix) and that’s why I have my long curled tail. I lost my right eye a little while ago, but you wouldn’t know it by how I act — Except when I accidentally bump into things that are on my right side, oops!

Because I only have one eye left, it’s super important that my eye is protected and taken care of. I’m not allowed to stick my head in bushes, and because I want to be near people all the time, you have to be careful you don’t run into me and bump my eye.

I love taking walks, playing with my foster brother, getting belly rubs, and chasing squirrels. I’m very cheerful and get excited about pretty much everything. I can jump really high, but my foster mom says I can be excited and not jump, so I’m working on that.

I love people, and I love some dogs. My foster brother is submissive and we get along great. I’d need a slow introduction to any new pets, but I am pretty adaptable! Because I still jump and want to lick all the time, I won’t be a good match for young children. Even with two walks a day, I'm still very excitable and active, so I’d need to go to a home where I can get my walks in and burn off some energy. I’m a great walking buddy! I love running around the yard, I’m a bit impulsive so a securely fenced yard is required to keep me safe!

Breed experience required. ( Have had boston, frenchie, pug before) Committed to excellent eye care for her only eye that remains- ie going to the opthamologist to maintain good vision and health of that eye.

If you think you might be a match...The first step is to contact us and fill out an application. There are several steps to being approved. Application, Excellent Vet reference, phone interview, and home visit - We match our dogs with a family that is can meet the needs of each dog, thus providing success for the adopted dog, and the adoptive family.
