Mabel's Story

Meet Mabel! This spirited girl came to us from an overcrowded shelter, where her early life was sadly spent being used for breeding. Those days are now behind her, and since arriving with us, Mabel has been learning what it truly means to be safe, loved, and cared for and she's blossoming more each day.

Mabel is now embracing the good life with enthusiasm and joy. She absolutely loves going to the park for walks and is a wonderful leash walker, proudly strutting along like she knows she's finally where she belongs. Car rides are another favorite just say the word and she's ready to jump in for the next adventure. And of course, like any smart girl, she is highly motivated by treats, which makes her a joy to engage with and train.

Energetic, outgoing, and full of personality, Mabel brings a bright, lively presence wherever she goes. She's the kind of dog who makes everyday moments more fun, whether she's exploring outside, soaking up attention from her people, or showing off her wagging tail in anticipation of a reward.

Mabel is looking for a home that understands her needs and can appreciate her working-dog personality. Ideally, she would thrive with someone familiar with Rottweilers or similar breeds who can continue guiding her with structure, consistency, and love. In the right home, she will shine as the loyal, devoted companion she was always meant to be.

She has done well around other dogs when given proper introductions and the right setting, showing she can enjoy canine companionship when matched appropriately.

Mabel has already overcome so much and now she's ready for the best part of her story: a forever home filled with patience, guidance, and unconditional love.

If you are interested in meeting Mabel, please visit our website and submit an adoption application today.
(copy and paste the link below in your browser)
https://www.seniordogsanctuary.com/adoption-application.html

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland's Adoption Policy
Why adopt a Senior Dog? Experienced, housebroken, settled down, loving and lovable, good with children, excellent company, non-judgemental - we could go on but you get the picture. Exceptions to everything listed? Sure, but all in all an experience you will never regret. First, come visit the dogs that interest you; we are open, by appointment, every day of the week from 10-3. Then complete our Adoption Application, which asks for personal references, your animals' Vet, information about your home environment and your agreement to allow us to do a home visit. Once approved, we will do a meet and greet with your family - including your four-legged family members. If all goes well, you welcome your pup into your home and your heart and you all become members of our extended Senior Dog Sanctuary family!
