Luna's Story

Luna is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 14 pounds. She is a special little girl who's breed you don't see often. She is a Xoloitzcuintli or a Mexican Hairless dog. Her breed name is pronounced "show-low-eets-kweent-lee". Luna's breed comes from Mexico and they only have a small amount of hair on them. Now she is possibly mixed with Dachshund but we would have to do a DNA test to be sure.

Luna is a sweet, shy little girl who had a great family that loved and spoiled her. Unfortunately they have to move where dogs aren't allowed so we stepped in to help. Luna used pee pads in her previous home but she will go outdoors to potty. She likes to sleep in bed with her owners and be rocked to sleep.

Luna's breed is why we put her as special needs. She needs to have her skin bathed like you would a human. She doesn't have protection from the sun so she will need sunscreen outdoors and shady areas to be in. As a young dog she is considered a teen ager and has some acne on her skin. This will go away as she gets older. Luna is on Blue Buffalo Salmon food which gives her a nice shiny look and is good for her health.

If you would like to meet Luna please fill out an application from our website.
