Luna's Story

Luna is also affectionately called (Looney Tunes) by her foster family. This little girl has #bigdogenergy and likes to vocalize her thoughts.

Luna is a work in progress, once her trust is gained so blossoms~ She prefers women over men, and she lived with young children for the past year. She’s great on walks and LOVES car rides. She does not like to be left alone and will bark, if you live in an apartment, share walls or reside in a HOA (like her foster family does), she will get you into trouble (which ultimately gets her in trouble).

Luna plays HARD and she plays for hours with a 5-year-old male staffy/boxer mix (chewing his ears and legs throughout the day) she needs an active dog friend and one that will tolerate this and a dog who will give her corrections (or a boxer paw, see videos). She also can scale a 48” x-pen and baby gates like a true #parkour champ. She is fine with cats (motivation is wanting what they eat), she’s good with large and small dogs (however, she’s the boss and delights in letting everyone know this). Luna was recently groomed, and our experienced groomer was able to handle her without incident (we highly suggest using our groomer).

To be successful, Luna needs a family who is home more often than not, or a family that is active and will build on the foundation we’ve started. She’s also house trained! She will need time to warm up to her new person/family (slowandsteadywinstherace) -she’s fearful but once her trust is gained, she shines-like-a-diamond. She’s also a kissing bandit and loves to be next to you and rolls over for belly rubs. She’s thought to be 3-4 years old, DNA panel completed & available. Luna would also do well as your one and only and soak up all the attention!

Luna was spayed, had hernia repair completed, is 100% vaccinated, microchipped, blood panel, urinalysis and fecal exam completed, she is also current on flea preventive treatment.

Luna is available through our foster-to-adopt program. Foster application on our website, please no texts or phone calls.

Charlie's Foundation's Adoption Policy
Wanting to adopt a Senior? We'd like to tell you about our Adoption Process. All of us are volunteers and no one is paid. We do the best that we can to respond as timely as possible, but we also have our own animals, children, spouses, jobs, families, and homes - just like you. So, please be patient with us. 1. APPLICATION The first step in being considered to adopt a senior companion pet from us is to fill out our adoption application located under the "Forms" tab. If you found one of our dogs or cats on Petfinder.com or RescueMe.org you still need to fill out our online application as that is only an inquiry. It may take several days or weeks before we are able to get your application processed. During this time, please make sure that you contact your vet and references to let them know that we will be calling. We realize that our online application can be temperamental and sometimes cell phones or Ipads won't let you complete the form. We ask that you use a desktop computer and that should fix the issue. 2. REVIEW PROCESS Once your application has been reviewed, we may contact you by email or phone to verify information or ask for clarification. 3. PHONE INTERVIEW If/when we have a senior that would be a great fit for you and your family, we will call you and your references. At that time we will ask many questions and we hope you do too. 4. MEET-AND-GREET If you are approved, we will arrange a meet-and-greet. This gives all family members and pets a chance to meet, we ask that all family members are present. Please note: You and your family will be required to travel to the city where the senior dog or cat resides. We do not transport our dogs or cats to potential adopters. 5. ADOPTION If the meet-and-greet goes well and all agree, the adoption paperwork is finalized and your new family member may go home with you that very same day.
