Our Mission

We strongly believe and will strive to improve the quality of life for senior dogs left behind and in dire need of care and compassion in their golden years. We also believe in strong and ethical partnerships; to include an all foster based rescue. We will strive to help educate owners who feel a shelter may be their only resource available for their senior companion. Most importantly to be their advocate for spay and neuter programs and to help owners in need find low-cost programs. Seniors are often deemed less adoptable and when shelters need space, they are the first ones to be put-to-sleep. Most are in dire need of medical care and crave the simplest of human interaction. Most only receive the interaction they longed for when they are removed from their kennel once their time has run out. This is the most heart wrenching of realities knowing that the interaction only comes at the expense of ending their lives that fateful day.

Adoption Policy

Wanting to adopt a Senior? We'd like to tell you about our Adoption Process. All of us are volunteers and no one is paid. We do the best that we can to respond as timely as possible, but we also have our own animals, children, spouses, jobs, families, and homes - just like you. So, please be patient with us. 1. APPLICATION The first step in being considered to adopt a senior companion pet from us is to fill out our adoption application located under the "Forms" tab. If you found one of our dogs or cats on Petfinder.com or RescueMe.org you still need to fill out our online application as that is only an inquiry. It may take several days or weeks before we are able to get your application processed. During this time, please make sure that you contact your vet and references to let them know that we will be calling. We realize that our online application can be temperamental and sometimes cell phones or Ipads won't let you complete the form. We ask that you use a desktop computer and that should fix the issue. 2. REVIEW PROCESS Once your application has been reviewed, we may contact you by email or phone to verify information or ask for clarification. 3. PHONE INTERVIEW If/when we have a senior that would be a great fit for you and your family, we will call you and your references. At that time we will ask many questions and we hope you do too. 4. MEET-AND-GREET If you are approved, we will arrange a meet-and-greet. This gives all family members and pets a chance to meet, we ask that all family members are present. Please note: You and your family will be required to travel to the city where the senior dog or cat resides. We do not transport our dogs or cats to potential adopters. 5. ADOPTION If the meet-and-greet goes well and all agree, the adoption paperwork is finalized and your new family member may go home with you that very same day.
