Louie's Story

Hello! My name is Louie, and I am a Standard Poodle, about 6 years old, born on 2/26/2020, now weighing 64 lbs, and I'm very debonair with touches of silver in my soft, curly black coat, and a docked tail. I was living a good life in San Antonio, Texas, adopted as a puppy from a breeder in Arkansas. I was living with 3 dog housemates, but when our owner became ill, we were all surrendered to various dog rescues. It was initially hard on me, being away from everything and everyone I knew, but I quickly started feeling happy again. These days, with the past behind me, I am doing great and ready for a new life in a new forever home!

My foster parents want you to know that I am a wonderful boy with a great, easygoing personality, smart, calm, and kind. Im friendly with everyone, young and old, and although Im friendly with other dogs, they are not my focus, because my heart belongs to people. I LOVE going for walks, whether it's a leisurely stroll, a slow jog, or even a ride in the car; my happy place is by your side. I enjoy playing fetch and snacking on dog treats, especially watermelon and apples, and you should know that snuggling is my specialty! Yep, I am very affectionate, not kissy, but I bond wholeheartedly, basically velcro, and will follow you everywhere, including sleeping in your room at night. I am housebroken and good in a crate while the humans are away. To sum up, I am friendly, sweet, loving, and loyal, and Im ready to meet you!
