Lobo's Story
Lobo is about 10 months old and weighs 30 lbs. We think he's an Australian Cattle Dog mix, but he doesn't have all the typical cattle dog traits.

Lobo is incredibly dog savvy and has a rare ability to get along with just about everyone. He regularly plays with dogs of all sizes, from tiny 8 pound pups to 100 pound giants. He adjusts his play style to match each dog's comfort level. Whether he's romping with a group of his dog friends or having one-on-one wrestling matches, Lobo reads social cues beautifully. If another dog tells him they've had enough, he's quick to respect their boundaries and move on without any drama.

He's a smart, active young dog who loves learning new things, especially if treats are involved. Lobo enjoys his walks, zooming around a yard when he has the chance, (He's fostered in an apartment and does great!) and chasing tennis balls. Bringing them back? He's not particularly committed to that part of the game.

He walks nicely on leash, is crate trained, and hasn't met a toy he doesn't love. Every time he comes out of his crate, he makes sure to grab a chew toy to carry around with him.

In public, he is indifferent to people. If a stranger comes up to say hello, he might grace them with quick glance before returning his focus to his human. His royal highness is far too busy to worry about making small talk with strangers. Once you've made an impression on him, he might decide you're worthy of a hello.

At home, it's a different story. If his person introduces him to someone, Lobo immediately decides they're his new best friend. Once he decides you're cool enough, he will show you how goofy and affectionate he can be. He will be demanding pets and bringing you toys in no time.

After you're part of his approved circle you'll have a friend for life. He becomes a loyal shadow who wants to be wherever you are. He'll follow you from room to room, supervise your daily activities, and make sure he doesn't miss any opportunities for pets, cuddles, or snacks. After a long day of supervising, he loves nothing more than curling up on the couch for some quality cuddle time.

Lobo is smart and eager to learn. Lobo picks new things up quickly and will be a joy to train.

We normally require previous Australian Cattle Dog ownership to adopt an ACD from us, but Lobo has not shown typical ACD nipping tendencies, so we are not requiring breed experience for his adoption.

Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/TLdogapp

Adoption radius: 60 miles from Silver Spring, MD
Please note: We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly.
