Little Bear's Story

Little Bear is a 13 month old, 11 pound Yorkshire Terrier mix. He is an adorable, active, curious and loving little guy with classic terrier puppy spunk, athleticism and a combination of affection, playfulness and independence.
We seek adopters who are active, whether that means gardening, walking, beachgoers, campers, hikers, folks who go out and about. We seek folks who walk him daily.. Bear loves to play with playful dogs. His best friend in rescue is a 25 lb dog. We would love to see him have a playmate in his new home or in his adopter's friend group. Though cuddly, he is not full time lap dog and a sedentary lifestyle is not for him.
We do not know his exact mix as he is a rescue dog, but his previous owner said he is a Yorkie and he looks and acts like he is a Yorkie or mix.
He is fostered in Linn County, about an hour from Sisters, Corvallis, Albany, Eugene. About 2 hours from Portland & Newport.
He is vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped and de-wormed. His adoption fee is $500.
Little Bear is house trained, leash trained, rides well in the car and is off leash recall trained to come for a treat. We seek a no crate home for Bear. Though he has not been exposed to children that we know of, we believe that he would enjoy kids with great dog manners.

A great home and must haves for Little Bear include:
1. An owned or stable renter home with a securely fenced yard where Bear will have company more than not, so folks not gone long hours.
2. Adopters who will walk him daily, plus include him in their fun activities.
3. People who will treat him as a family member, ideally let him sleep in, near, or underneath their bed, as he loves. Baby gates are fine until you know that he is okay on his own.
If you meet the above criteria, and are interested in Bear, please complete an application:
https://forms.gle/tdSaAxLnTNv4ba1o6
If you prefer to inquire, please email awoofovermyhead@gmail.com with 'Bear' in the subject line. Include some information about yourself and how Bear will fit into your life. Leave a number where we can call you.
Our process is thorough, quick and personal. We will screen your application, answer your questions, offer additional information, then, once approved, we will schedule a meet. If we all agree at the meet that it is a great match, Bear goes home with you.

Non-cigarette smokers only, please. Thanks!
