Meet LILY

Lily, the golden Puggle, is a total love and looking for her forever home.. She adores her people, She enjoys the company of cats and still enjoys playing. She LOVES the car and likes her walks. Lily loves to go for hikes in the woods. She is house trained and crate trained although doesn't need her crate. Lily can be picky about other dogs put lives with one in rescue and does fine and does fine with the foster's family and friends visiting dogs. A meet and greet with a resident dog would be a good idea.

Lily is about 9 years old and was left behind when her family moved. The tenant's father took her and chained her in his yard where she was destined for the shelter. After many years with her family, poor Lily was left behind; unwanted and unloved.

Lily weighed close to 50 pounds when she came into rescue and now weighs 27. Her target weight is to lose 5 more pounds. Lily likes food and it seems that no matter how creative her foster home is with their cat's food, Lily finds a way..... :) There are also 5 children in the home and Lily knows that they are not always careful with their food. YUM, YUM! Her last 5 pounds will most likely have to come off in her forever home.

Lily's foster provider has noticed that she is starting to lose some of her hearing and she does have a few (2) very small lumps and bumps (all benign). She is on a freeze dried raw diet which has helped her lose her weight and nourish her in a healthy manner after what appears to be years of a poor diet.

Lily will need a fenced area and someone that is not working away from home full time. By the time dogs come to us they have been deprived of a lot of attention, often confined; either crated a lot or tethered. They enjoy their freedom and the attention and we feel they deserve that in their new, forever home. Many of our adopters have fenced in order to adopt and we will work with you to do that. We have a lot of ideas and pictures of how to fence a small area off of a deck or around a patio. We will not adopt to anyone without a fence. Thank you for understanding.

Lily loves children and lives with them but we feel that children in the home should be at least 12 years old due to some loss of hearing.

This golden girl is a complete love. Lily is a seasoned companion and deserves her to have her very own home. We know that it is harder for people to adopt a senior. We do understand that and therefore Lily has a reduced adoption fee of $125.

Star-Mar uses a natural care program for our dogs. We are happy to talk with anyone about how to keep your dogs safe and healthy through a vital nutrient diet and without the use of toxins or chemicals.

If you feel that your lifestyle and environment meet with Lily's needs please contact Martha at learymjri@aol.com or call 330-466-3667 or 330-262-0515 for an application or more information. Lily's adoption will require an approved application and home visit. The adoption must be completed with the adopter coming to the foster home. Adoption fee is $125.

PLEASE READ; If you are using a commercial, chemical flea preventative like Trifexis, or Frontline, etc., these are dangerous neurotoxins that poison the life force of your dog (his or her blood) in order to kill a flea. There are serious side effects including seizures and even death from the use of this product. It is so toxic that it is under the control of the EPA, deadly to wildlife, a toxic water pollutant, dangerous to children and pregnant women.. With over 40,000 complaints of sickness and death a year reported to the EPA from the use of these chemical flea products, we feel we can no longer put our dogs in homes who use or will continue to use these products for flea prevention. We are happy to talk with you about natural flea preventatives. Please understand that whether you put the flea product on your dog or in your dog you are still poisoning your dog's blood. There is a safer, healthier way for your dog, you and your family and for the environment.
