Libby's Story

Meet Libby, a four year old beagle/dachshund mix with the most soulful brown eyes and adorably plump little body you’ve ever seen. At 55 pounds, this sweet girl was clearly very loved by her former family before they made the difficult decision to surrender her when they could no longer care for her. Libby is now on a healthy weight-loss journey, and she’s already proving she’ll do just about anything for a treat (which, honestly, is no surprise to anyone who meets her).

Libby is the definition of a velcro dog. She loves cuddling, following her people from room to room, and simply being part of whatever you’re doing. More interested in affection than toys or playtime, she’s happiest curled up beside you soaking up attention. When she gets excited, she does the cutest little hops and full body wiggles that are guaranteed to make you smile.

She’s crate trained, house trained, knows basic commands, and while she sometimes tries to be the boss on walks, she redirects easily. Libby can be timid around loud noises, but she’s gaining confidence more and more each day. She’s incredibly friendly with everyone she meets and has been wonderful with kids.

Libby has been fine towards the fosters bunny, calmly acknowledging him and going about her day. While she hasn’t been tested with cats, her gentle nature is very promising. She would do best with a mellow canine companion, as high-energy dogs that don’t respect her space aren’t really her style.

If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, professional cuddle buddy, and sweet best friend to share your couch and snacks (well…maybe healthy snacks) with, Libby may just be your perfect match.

Her adoption fee is $425 and Libby is vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you think you might be her person, please apply at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. Questions? Email info@happilyfureverafter.org.
