07/16/26 – Meet LEXI. She’s ready to love again.<br/><br/>At just 5 years old, beautiful Lexi is still wondering why no one has come for her yet. She has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for the family she deserves.<br/><br/>Lexi is the total package—sweet, smart, playful, and absolutely gorgeous. She’s never met a stranger and greets everyone with a friendly, happy personality. She also seems to enjoy the company of other dogs.<br/><br/>She walks nicely on a leash, though she can get a little excited (and surprisingly strong!) if she spots a lizard.<br/><br/>While we don’t know how she does with cats, we do know she’s wonderful with children 11 years and older.<br/><br/>Lexi is ready to trade shelter life for a comfy bed, a loving family, and a place to finally call home.<br/><br/>Please share Lexi’s story and help us find her forever family. She was brought to a shelter and then made her way to us.<br/><br/>Sadly, it looks like Lexi may have spent much of her life being used for breeding before being discarded and left to fend for herself on the streets. Now, her future is looking much brighter.<br/><br/>Lexi has recently been spayed and is settling into rescue life. While we’re still getting to know her, one thing is already clear: this lovely girl has a wonderful temperament and a kind, gentle nature. Despite everything she’s been through, she’s been nothing but sweet with everyone she meets.<br/><br/>For now, Lexi’s focus is on healing and recovering from her surgery. Once she’s fully recovered, we’ll be able to do a more thorough evaluation and learn more about her personality, likes, and needs.<br/><br/>We’re excited to watch this deserving girl blossom, and we can’t wait to share updates as we get to know her better. Welcome to the DRL family, Lexi—you’re safe now.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral).
