Levi 's Story

This sweet, growing boy is looking for a very specific kind of home! One with a confident, stable adult dog who will show him the ropes. Or a retiree/someone who works from home.

He came to us through the Solano Sheriff’s Department Animal Control as part of a confiscation case. While we’re happy to share details with serious adopters, what matters most is that he didn’t have a gentle beginning. Because of that, confidence-building is the foundation of everything we do with him — and he is making incredible progress.

In just two months, he has blossomed into an affectionate, deeply bonded, very good puppy.

He is:
• Neutered
• Crate trained
• Potty trained
• Knows sit, down, and stay
• Walks nicely on leash
• Great with cats
• Respectful at the dog park and responsive even in busy environments

He currently lives with two adult huskies who have taken him under their wing, as well as two senior German Shepherds who prefer their space and a full colony of cats whom he respects. He has learned the household chain of command beautifully. He understands when to engage, when to back off, and how to read other dogs.

He absolutely requires another well-balanced adult dog in the home.
Not just for play — but for structure. He thrives with a canine mentor who is tolerant of a puppy still polishing his manners, but confident enough to provide appropriate corrections. He studies other dogs and mirrors their energy. (He can be an only dog if owners are home often). He does not have separation anxiety or any behavioral issues from being left alone.

He is a big, sensitive puppy at heart. He can be cautious with new experiences, but with a soft-spoken, patient human who continues taking him on walks, outings, hikes, and dog park adventures, he gains confidence quickly. Once he trusts you, he bonds deeply and will happily be your shadow.

His ideal home will:
• Have a confident adult dog
• Be calm, patient, and gentle
• Continue structured social exposure
• Allow him to be the “baby,” even as he grows

He is not fragile — he is resilient. He simply needs steady leadership and kindness as he continues learning that the world is safe.
