Meet Lenora

Sweet and playful homebody who loves the outdoors and is looking for a role model type to bond with furever.

Does your dog need a companion? Lenora is a special girl who really needs another dog to show her the way and make her feel special. After being found scared and alone in a rural area she was picked up and brought to a shelter where a Hero foster offered to take her in. She has been slow to warm up to but shines around other dogs which is why we think she would be best in a home with another pup. Lenora isn’t fond of the crate but has not had any accident throughout the night and she does sleep all night long if she has someone to cuddle up with. She is great a communicating when she needs to go potty or when she is ready to eat so we can say she prefers to stay on a schedule. If the weather is good, being outside is her happy place and she loves to play with toys and soak in the sunshine, so a fenced yard is preferable. She has an adorable overbite which might prove to give her a funny smile once her big girl teeth grow in. Lenora has been around cats and thinks they are just like her and tries to get them to play. The vet expects her to be around 45lbs so a great size for any home. Her personality is curious but cautious, playful yet mellow, a follower and communicator, she really is the best of everything you want in a puppy, and she is sure to be a gem of dog. You can give her an antler and she will stay on a dog bed quietly enjoying herself for long periods of time. The only time her foster family has heard her bark is when her foster fur-siblings where playing keep away with a toy and she wanted back. Her new family needs to know it may take Lenora some time to warm up to them and to learn her new environment and schedule. While she is pretty much potty trained, she has the occasional accident if you aren’t fast enough when she gives her little whines that she needs to go. Her coat is on the shorter side and her ears are like velvet. You can hear her coming with the pitter-patter of her clumsy paws that she will eventually grow into. We would love to see Lenora find her furever family before the holidays and she will be the greatest 15 yearlong gift a family could get.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
