Meet Leila

Personality: gentle, snuggler, loyal, goofy/funny, and protective.

Leila is a total lovebug who wants to be as close to her humans as possible. She will sit patiently and watch you while you work, but the second you head to the couch to watch TV she will be right there with you. Leila often dozes off during couch time, and her adorable snores are the perfect soundtrack to whatever you are watching! Leila loves to put her face as close as possible to yours and will take all of the pets and cuddles you will give her.

Leila also loves to hang with other dogs, and is so exuberant she will pull on the leash to get to say hello to them. She is working on building her confidence in her crate and is doing well with house training. Leila is one smart cookie and already knows the words "sit and "no.

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
