Meet Leila
Personality: gentle, snuggler, loyal, goofy/funny, and protective.
Leila is a total lovebug who wants to be as close to her humans as possible. She will sit patiently and watch you while you work, but the second you head to the couch to watch TV she will be right there with you. Leila often dozes off during couch time, and her adorable snores are the perfect soundtrack to whatever you are watching! Leila loves to put her face as close as possible to yours and will take all of the pets you will give her. She's an equal-opportunity cuddler and is happy to snuggle up to whichever of her humans happens to be in the closest proximity.
Leila is so exuberant she will sometimes pull on her leash to get to where she wants to go (usually to meet another dog) but is getting better with the help of a leader leash. She's doing very well with house training and has made huge strides in feeling more comfortable in her crate; she's happy to sleep in it overnight and will let you know in the morning when she needs to go out. Leila is one smart cookie and already knows the words "sit and "no. Leila is such a gentle, easygoing pup -give her a ball, some cuddles, and a lot of couch time, and she'll be absolutely content.
Leila was sponsored by the Betsock Family in memory of Ziggy (FKA Vaughn).

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
