Lark's Story

Special Adopter Needed for Lark

Lark is a sweet 6-year-old spayed and vaccinated Poodle who was rescued from a breeder and is now learning what it means to be loved and cared for. Sadly, Lark has had very little human handling throughout her life, so she is understandably shy, skittish, and unsure of the world around her.

Lark is not yet potty trained and is currently using potty pads while she adjusts to her new surroundings. She is also fearful of going outside, so her new family will need to be patient and willing to take things slowly as she learns that the world can be a safe and happy place.

Lark would do best in a quiet, patient home where someone is home most of the time, or with a confident companion dog who can help show her the ropes. She is currently being fostered with her friend Morgan, another very shy former breeding dog, as well as two large hounds. Everyone gets along wonderfully, with no displays of aggression.

Although Lark is still finding her confidence, her underlying personality is already beginning to shine through. She is a gentle, sweet girl who simply needs time, patience, understanding, and lots of love.

Just like her friend Morgan, Lark is truly another diamond in the ruff. With the right person by her side, we believe this timid girl could blossom into a playful, affectionate, and loving companion.

Lark doesn’t need a perfect home — she needs a special person who will give her the time she deserves and never give up on her.

Could you be the one to help Lark discover the wonderful life she has been waiting for?

If you are interested in giving Lark her forever home, please submit an adoption application at www.homesfurhounds.org

Homes Fur Hounds, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
1. Once you have identified the dog(s) you are interested in meeting, you must submit an Adoption Application. You can find the application at https://www.homesfurhounds.org 2. Be patient. We occasionally have a high volume of applications, especially on puppies. 3. If your application is approved you will be contacted to arrange a meet and greet with the dog(s) you are interested in meeting. Whenever we have more than one applicant who is approved, we set up the meet and greet in the order in which the applications were received. 4. We are a small rescue group and do require home checks. Therefore, we only adopt to VA, NC and MD. Exceptions are made for medically needy or seniors if no qualified applicant is located in our adoption area. 5. We do keep applications on file for 6 months, so even if you aren’t selected for a particular dog, if you see another dog of interest, let us know and we will consider your application at that time. 6. Please don’t be offended if you are not selected to adopt. We try to match the dog with the BEST home for them. Just because you weren’t selected for a specific dog does not mean you can’t apply for another one. 7. Our adoption fee is $300.00.
