Lady's Story
We are here to make it known that there is a new lady on the block! Lady the 4 year old Colorado Mountain Dog (CMD) is proud to share her pictographic album and special smile with fans of BDHP. The CMD is a developing livestock guardian dog type which often combines Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd and could also have Maremma or Akbash added to the mix. The CMD is generally stable, reliable, protective more socialized and calmer than typical Livestock Guardian Dogs. Lady is a gorgeous representation of an often-used description - a giant gray cloud on legs. The name Lady brings to mind refined behavior, grace, kindness, and inner strength. Our Lady has had recent upsets to her life that she is working through as a true lady does with poise and grace while treating everyone with respect. Lady was adopted as a ten-month-old puppy from BDHP and lived in a home with many dogs of all sizes. Recently a new female dog was adopted to the home. Lady and the new girl didn’t enjoy sharing the attention and spotlight in her home of 4 years and had some skirmishes resulting in Lady being returned to the Rescue to search for a forever home to spend her forever in this time. Since arriving in her foster home, Lady has been fairly reactive to other dogs in general, so we feel she would do best in a home as the only dog. Lady is a lady who knows about going potty outside, walking on a leash and LOVES to take a spin in the front seat of a motorized chariot! She will make some family very lucky who is looking for a loyal companion to guard and protect her property. If Lady sounds like the lady for you, put in your adoption application today.
