Kira's Story
Did you ever look up at the sky and see things in the clouds? Oh look, it's a dragon! An ice cream cone! A dog... no wait... it's Kira!
Easy to get confused. In both appearance and demeanor, Kira is less "dog" and more "gently drifting weather pattern." The good kind. The kind that softens the sun without ruining your day. The kind that makes you think, "Yes, I could sit here for a while."
Kira is ten years old, which in dog terms means she's achieved a level of wisdom most of us are still working toward. She understands the important things in life -- where to nap, how to walk politely on a leash, and how to move through a home like a true professional. She's fully housetrained, with excellent house manners, the kind you don't have to think about because everything just... works. She's a Lab/Carolina Dog Mix, a slightly chonky 70-pounds.
She's lived with other dogs, cats, and respectful children, and managed to get along with all of them, which frankly puts her well ahead of many humans.
Kira didn't do anything to end up here. No bad decisions, no behavioral quirks, no "one small issue" buried in the fine print. She was a beloved family dog, and through circumstances beyond her control, she now finds herself needing a new place to land.
If you've ever wanted your own personal cloud -- the kind that follows you around, doesn't block your view, and somehow makes the whole sky better -- Kira is waiting.
And she's very, very good at what she does.Kira's waiting to soften your day at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9am to noon, daily, including weekends and holidays.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
