Meet King
King joined us from our friends at a St. Charles area shelter where he had arrived quite underweight, missing patches of fur, and suffering terrible ear infections. But thanks to his SGSDR foster home and our incredible veterinary care providers, he is feeling like a new dog now!
King is crate trained and house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He sleeps in a crate through the night. King is very good on leash walks, doesn’t pull, and will walk in a heel position. He has a soft mouth when taking treats.
In his foster home King lives with a teenager and he has done great with her. He ignores the baby in the house. He shares his foster home with 2 female GSDs and does well with them. His foster mom says he needs some guidance in meeting new dogs and says he would be fine as an only dog. King should not go to a home cats, or small dogs.
King is very sweet and gentle and loves people. He has some fun characteristics too. King will offer kisses to his humans and will offer to give you “shake” when he comes out of his crate. It’s clear that somebody loved this boy once in his life.

Our Adoption Fees:

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $400
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $350
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $350 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
