He wagged his tail anyway.

Seriously. This boy never stopped loving people.

Now, after months of healing, Kash is officially ready to leave his medical saga behind and start the fun chapter of his life: being somebody’s ridiculously lovable best friend.

At around two years old, Kash is equal parts athlete, class clown, and oversized frat boy roommate. He’s never met a stranger and genuinely believes every human exists solely to pet him. He’s fantastic with other dogs and absolutely thrives around them. Kash is what we lovingly call “a dog’s dog.” He wants to play, wrestle, zoom, body slam, chase, and generally act like an overgrown maniac with his canine friends. Because of his play style, he’d do best with another playful large breed dog or fellow Dane who can match his enthusiasm for full-contact fun.

He’s currently living with three other Danes in his foster home and gets along beautifully with all of them. He’s also attended dog meetups and events where he’s been social, friendly, and wonderfully behaved.

Kash has met children while out and about and has done great with them, too. We think he’d likely do well in a home with dane-savvy kids, but fair warning: this giant noodle occasionally forgets he weighs as much as a small refrigerator. Tiny toddlers could easily get accidentally bumped over during one of his enthusiastic “OMG HI BESTIE” moments.

He’s potty trained, loves companionship, and despite everything he’s endured, has remained one of the happiest, sweetest souls imaginable. His foster dad works long hours, so Kash is accustomed to staying in an indoor walk-in kennel setup, though we aren’t yet sure how he’d feel about a traditional crate.

More than anything, Kash deserves a family who sees him not as the dog from the horrific medical case, but as the goofy, joyful, resilient Dane he truly is. His knee may always look a little rough and he may have a slight hitch in his step, but Kash doesn’t let it slow him down one bit.

Kash is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. Kash's adoption fee is $400. To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Kash, go to nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to pick up the dane in person from his/her foster parent.

We allow exceptions in rare medical instances upon verification with your vet only. 2. All Dogs and outdoor Cats in your home MUST be current and have been kept historically up to date on annual vaccinations and monthly (or semiannual) heartworm and flea prevention. You must own the property in which you live or your landlord must be willing to verify that you are allowed to have a Great Dane in your rental home. We check property records.? 5. Our Great Danes require a sturdy fenced in yard, particularly young or active danes. Generally, a six-foot or higher privacy fencing is preferred. In certain circumstances, the Board may waive this requirement depending upon the Dane's personality and temperament. Any such exceptions will solely be at the discretion of the Rescue Board. Under no circumstances will we consider invisible or electric fencing as acceptable. 6. We only adopt Dogs as indoor pets. We will not adopt Dogs to be used as guard dogs or to be kept out-of-doors. 7. A home visit is required for ALL adoptions, without exception. This is not a white-glove inspection, rather it is to ensure that the home is a safe environment for the Great Dane. 8. We do not transport.
