Kaiser's Story

Hello Kaiser!

**FOSTERED IN PANAMA CITY, FL**

If you're searching for a loyal companion who believes there is no such thing as too much affection, then allow us to introduce Kaiser!

Kaiser is a handsome 4-year-old Great Dane who has been thriving in his foster home in Panama City after being returned through no fault of his own. Over the past month, he has proven himself to be a gentle, loving, and incredibly adaptable boy who is more than ready to find his forever family.

Kaiser's greatest joy in life is simply being close to his people. Whether he's resting his giant head in your lap, gently placing a paw on your leg, or leaning his entire body against you for extra cuddles, he always finds a way to remind you that love is his favorite thing. While he certainly has a playful side, we've come to realize that Kaiser is truly an old soul wrapped up in a 150-pound Great Dane body.

In his foster home, Kaiser has done beautifully with both resident dogs (a doodle and a mastiff) and has been a respectful, easygoing companion from day one. He has shown no signs of food aggression and coexists peacefully around other dogs during mealtime.

One thing Kaiser feels strongly about? Crates are absolutely not his thing. After some testing, we can confidently confirm that crate life is not for him. Fortunately, he has earned his freedom around the house and has done wonderfully. With regular potty breaks and access to a secure fenced yard, he has had zero accidents and has proven to be a trustworthy houseguest.

Like many Great Danes, Kaiser has discovered that countertops exist for his convenience. His impressive height makes him a talented counter surfer, so future adopters should keep food and high-value treats safely out of reach unless they're willing to share! His favorite reward is duck jerky, and just the mention of it can trigger an enthusiastic round of zoomies, both indoors and out.

Despite his size, Kaiser walks well on either a harness or martingale collar. He occasionally likes to follow his nose or stop to greet admirers along the way, but overall he is an enjoyable walking companion. Because of his athletic ability, he will need a securely fenced yard with a 6-foot fence to keep him safe while he stretches his legs and enjoys his zoomie sessions.

Kaiser recently received a full veterinary examination and passed with flying colors. He is heartworm negative, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to start the next chapter of his life.

Kaiser is the complete package: affectionate, well-mannered, healthy, dog-friendly, and deeply devoted to his people. If you're looking for a giant teddy bear who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Kaiser may be the perfect addition to your family.

His forever home is out thereand he's ready to fill it with loyalty, laughter, and plenty of Great Dane-sized snuggles.

His adoption fee is $350. To apply to adopt Kaiser, please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to pick up the dog in person from his/her foster parent's home.

We allow exceptions in rare medical instances upon verification with your vet only. 2. All Dogs and outdoor Cats in your home MUST be current and have been kept historically up to date on annual vaccinations and monthly (or semiannual) heartworm and flea prevention. We will call your vet to verify this. We allow exceptions to this in rare medical instances upon verification with your vet, ONLY. 3. You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to adopt and be able to prove you're financially able to care for a great dane should a medical emergency arise. 4. You must own the property in which you live or your landlord must be willing to verify that you are allowed to have a Great Dane in your rental home. We check property records.? 5. Our Great Danes require a sturdy fenced in yard, particularly young or active danes. Generally, a six-foot or higher privacy fencing is preferred. In certain circumstances, the Board may waive this requirement depending upon the Dane's personality and temperament. Any such exceptions will solely be at the discretion of the Rescue Board. Under no circumstances will we consider invisible or electric fencing as acceptable. 6. We only adopt Dogs as indoor pets. We will not adopt Dogs to be used as guard dogs or to be kept out-of-doors. 7. A home visit is required for ALL adoptions, without exception. This is not a white-glove inspection, rather it is to ensure that the home is a safe environment for the Great Dane. 8. We do not transport. If you are applying from out of area or out of state, understand that if your application gets approved, you will be expected to pick up the dane in the location that he/she is being fostered. In addition, if the adoption does not work out, it is your responsibility to bring the dane safely back to us. 9. There may be multiple applications for the same Dog. Our Great Danes are placed in the home we believe most suitable for them, based upon their individual needs and temperament. 10. Before applying below, please expect this application process to take about two weeks. If you are applying from out of area or state, please expect a slight delay. It will take us more time to get the home visit set up. At any time, if you have questions about the status of your application, please email the rescue at nwflgdr@gmail.com.
