June Bug's Story

What's that saying go - three's company? Well, this adorable doxie mix sibling trio will have you smiling from ear to ear grinning like a pumpkin! Ready just in time to dress up for trick-or-treat festivities in their new addresses, Skippy Jon, Juju-Bee and June Bug each have their bags packed and are ready to go!. Next up is sister June Bug - she has been vetted, spayed, microchipped, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. A forever family of her very own is all that's missing. Please read on for her story, and for instructions on how to request an application for her! Please be on the lookout for her siblings who are also available!

Here is what we know about JUNE BUG:

- June Bug is approximately 10 weeks old now, and weighs 3.4 pounds. Don't let her small size fool you, she is the whole package even though she is the smallest of her siblings!

- June Bug and her siblings are dachshund mixes. Mom was a dachshund purchased from a breeder, and Dad is unknown but we suspect he may have been a rat terrier or another form of small terrier mix based on these pups looks and dispositions. The good news is that they all have the best traits and characteristics - they are low riders but likely will be spared from the typical back problems of purebred doxies as a result of their breed mashups. An extra bonus is that they are all show-stopper cute!

- June Bug (and her siblings) were taken into rescue as very young pups. Since then, all have been thriving and receiving lots of TLC. They are ready to be adopted into forever families now.

- June Bug and her siblings are very much still babies, so they will need a family up to the challenges and excitement of puppyhood who will help these cuties grow into the best dogs they can be. They are tiny but mighty, and we think they will do really well with proper enforcement on things like housebreaking, crate training, leash walking, learning commands etc. Foster mom said it best - these cutie pies are a true blank slate and will need their families to teach them everything there is to know!

- June Bug is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has received a clean bill of health.

- June Bug and her siblings share a foster home with other dogs and get along great with them. They would do just fine as the only dogs in their new homes, but also could live well with another friendly pup.

- June Bug and her siblings haven't been directly exposed to cats, but we think with a proper introduction they would be just fine with them. Most cats will be larger than they are!

- June Bug and her siblings are tiny, and small in stature as well. As a result, we think they would do best with older children 8+ who could safely manage them and are old enough to understand doggy boundaries. All of them are playful and well socialized and love to be held.

- Because June Bug is so tiny, she is easy prey for lots of wildlife out there. She definitely can't be left unattended while outside, but would love to have some supervised playtime in a nice fenced in yard!

- We would love to see June Bug go to a home with small dog and/or breed experience, but welcome all applicants.

What we love about June Bug - she is a petite treat!

Is June Bug the one for you? If so, she's got her doggie bags packed and is ready to make her way home to you!

June Bug's adoption fee is $750! That covers all of her vetting and care up until the point of adoption.

If interested, please reach out to Brittany at Brittany.pacne@gmail.com and she will break down the adoption process for you and send you an application link!

*Paws & Claws New England, a/k/a Paws and Claws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization made up of volunteers and fosters who devote their time and love to help save homeless dogs and cats.
