Julie 3553's Story
04/23/26. Meet your future shadow, therapist, breakfast date, and professional cuddle consultant.

Julie is a beautiful 3-year-old Doberman girl who somehow ended up as a stray. She’s also a retired mama (a multiple-time overachiever in the motherhood department), and now it’s her turn to be taken care of.

Let’s get one thing out of the way: yes, her belly tells her story. She’s had babies, she’s nurtured them, and her body reflects that. It may always have a little sag... but honestly? That’s just proof she’s spent her life loving others. And now she’s ready for someone to love her back just as deeply.

Personality-wise? She’s an absolute angel in a Doberman suit.

Calm, quiet, and incredibly gentle

The definition of a “Velcro dog” (personal space? never heard of her)

Wants to be wherever you are—preferably touching you at all times—but she also has independence and crates well

Loves being outside... bonus points if she can enjoy her breakfast in the fresh air like the queen she is (dinner can be anywhere, solo; it’s just breakfast she’s a little picky about)

Will politely request company while dining, because meals are better with family

She’s a low-key girl looking for a stable new life.

Prefers chill male dog friends with similar calm energy

Not a fan of female dogs (she’s not into girl drama)

Loves all people and will happily soak up affection from anyone willing

Likely great with kids thanks to her gentle, patient nature

Cats? Probably not her vibe

If you’re looking for chaos... keep scrolling.

If you’re looking for a soft, deeply loving soul who just wants to exist peacefully by your side—this is your girl.

She doesn’t need to be “fixed” or “brought back.”

She just needs someone who sees her not for the life she’s already lived, but for the love she still has to give.

03/30/26 This is Julie. She was dumped in Redlands with two puppies. Julie has an open pyometra and a mammary tumor that needs to be removed. She’s 3 years old, and her ears were cropped and her tail docked by a backyard breeder who discarded her like trash.

She needs our help. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
Foster Application Adoption Application
