Juco's Story

NAME: Juco
Sex: Male
Color/Pattern: White with black speckles
Breed(s): Dogo Argentino mix
Weight: 55 lbs
Size: Large (tall)
Coat length: short
DOB approx: ~ 2021
Intake date: October 19th 2023

Description
Juco is a lowkey, gentle, quiet boy that is all white with little black spots, and a heart shaped nose. He is good with cats and other dogs, obedient and submissive.

Personality
Juco loves to give warm hugs and curl up next to you. Juco is a sweet, laid back and very low maintenance pup that often forgets he is a large dog. He wants to snuggle with you as if he is a small lap dog. He is crate and house trained, and very obedient. He loves attention and sitting on the couch to watch sports with you. He greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail. He listens and understands commands and is trustworthy and well behaved. He is good at the vet, even with other strange dogs around, and is able to control his enthusiasm. When he went to the groomers they mentioned that he was very easy to work with and wanted to give lots of hugs and cuddles when they were clipping his nails. He has lived at different foster homes that house two cats, a small dog and multiple other large dogs. Juco gets along well with everyone and is submissive to other dogs.

Background
When Juco was found as a stray by a GNAR volunteer. He had a collar and remnants of a leash that seemed to have been cut off. He walked right up to his finder cautiously and nicely. He was found in a neighborhood around Willow Forest. He was probably abandoned by his previous owners. His finders took him to their family vet and no microchip was found. The vet tech estimated he was about a year old at the time. They posted it on the neighborhood Facebook page and no one claimed him, so they became his foster home with GNAR.

Compatibility

Other Dogs - yes
Cats - yes
Kids - yes

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit.

Good Neighbors Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adoption Policy Visits are available by Video chat with the adoptable pet's foster home (Facetime or Zoom). Email us at GNARAnimalRescue@gmail.com and we will get you in direct contact with the volunteer who fosters the pet you are interested in. GNAR is all foster home based and volunteer run. We don't have a facility for visiting animals, but pets are fostered and socialized in home settings by volunteers. This makes our adoption process more personal, as every foster home knows their adoptable pets well, and keeps our overhead costs to a minimum. Email us at GNARAnimalRescue@gmail.com to foster, donate or volunteer. All adoptions require an application to be submitted and screened. After approval, payment of an adoption donation holds the pet for you. It takes about 2-3 days to complete the application process, from initial inquiry to pick up of the pet. Email us at GNARAnimalRescue@gmail.com to request an Adoption or Foster2Adopt application to be sent to you. All adoptions are conducted at a local pet store.
