Joseph ***My Adoption Fee Has Been Paid*** Pit Bull Terrier Stafford, VA

Joseph came to us back in April and he is still looking for his forever home :( We are looking for a very special home for Joseph. We don’t think he is a bad dog: he is very treat motivated and he loves the guidance from us humans!

Joseph’s adoption fee has been paid by an anonymous donor. Please help us find this active young man his new forever home!

We have conducted a behavioral assessment on Joseph and we have determined he will not be a good in a home with other dogs, cats or any others animals. We believe him to have a very high pray drive. We also do not recommend him to a home with children because Joseph likes to jump on people and he is also very sensitive about his hind legs being lifted up. He also did not like the slight tail tug we did during his behavioral assessment. He turned back and tried to snap. He did not put his teeth on anyone.

Joseph has also shown some resource guarding with high value treats and toys. Even though Joseph was growling and hovering over a high value treat and toy, not once did he try to bite when he was told to drop the toys and treats. He dropped them and waited patiently to to be given them back.

Joseph may sound like a lot to handle but we can tell someone has worked with him with his “issues”. Joseph absolutely loves tennis balls! Joseph knows a lot of basic commands and we truly believe that with the right human in his life, he will make a wonderful companion. We can tell he is looking for guidance and consistency from us humans.

We estimate Joseph to be about 4 years old. He is 51 pounds and he has been neutered so there are no adoption restrictions.
